Foreign Policy: Friendship With No Replica – Be It Russia or America

G-20 and Quad conferences were held in India. For achieving this level and by achieving the level – the image of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked wonders. India is no more a representative of an under-progressed nation, it is now a world leader.

With the improvement of Indian image globally, India’s relations with many countries have also been improved, but it does not seem that the G-20 so far has taken any specific decisions to practically display its significance.

The platform could not succeed in stopping the Russo-Ukraine war. Prevention of terrorism and government corruption was discussed in detail in two separate meetings but what was the result? Maybe nothing. Finance Ministers and Foreign Ministers of all the countries made fierce speeches on both the issues, but there has not been any such concrete initiative, which could end terrorism and corruption or control them to some extent.

The text on both these issues was read again with the same old stereotype script. Is there such a government in any country in the world, where leaders can claim that they do not resort to all sorts of gimmicks for coming and staying in power? Dictatorship and military governments are autocratic in this matter, democratic governments are also no less arbitrary. The election is the breathing tube of democracy.

To keep this breathing tube running, an infinite amount of money is needed. How can it be collected without corruption? Why are dozens of presidents and prime ministers of the world imprisoned? If they commit dishonesty, then their bureaucrats and capitalists fully support them in this campaign. Did any concrete suggestions emerge in this G-20 conference on surefire measures to avoid such dishonesty?

Similarly, the nations who sounded so indignant against terrorism, have themselves been the patrons of terrorism. To protect their national interests, they can use any of the worst tactics including terrorism. The issue of Ukraine remained the most important issue in the G-20 and Quadruple (US, India, Japan, Australia) conferences. The Russian and American foreign ministers met in Delhi but could not move toward a solution.

India’s policy in this direction has been too very flexible and practical. India tried its best and has also been successful in maintaining cordial relations with Russia as well as with America. In comparison to Nehru’s non-alignment, the present India’s policy has become one of non-alignment. He nods yes on both sides. Ramaya Swasti and Ravanaya Swasti too! Hail to both Ram and Ravana! Nowadays, India is showing fiercely the mastery of maintaining both friendship and enmity with China.
