Another Defeat : Now Team India lose to NZ

Following the rain-sacked India Vs New Zealand third One Day International, India lose the ODI series 1-0.

The three match cricket series basically reduced to one and a half games which saw India on the losing side. As such one complete match which New Zealand won was the only contest which represented the series. Losing the three-match ODI series against New Zealand 0-1 India looked repenting over the third game which today was called off due to rain at Christchurch.

Indian side might have not struggled too much for reaching to the target but the heavens had something else as the destiny. Following the hopeless scenario with covers placed over the wicket as rain stopped play during the one day cricket international between India and New Zealand the expectations of the continuation of the match went in vain. After waiting for so long finally the Umpire Wayne Knights had a look over the rains and grounds decided to call it off.

After the toss today in the morning, India was sent in to bat and a total of 219 in 47.3 overs was the target given by India to the home team.  From Indian side Washington Sundar hitting fifty one runs along with Shreyas Iyer who scored forty nine runs were the two significant performance which did the bulk of the scoring.

In reply, New Zealand looked confident to be reaching to the target with a comfortably placed one hundred and four runs. By this point the home side had just lost one wicket in the eighteen overs and then happened the natural opening stopping the game.

After the heavens opened up, it looked may be Duckworth Luis system can help India to gain the victory but for that also the match needed to restart and that did not happen.  India’s being bowled out for 219 runs was discouraging where Washington Sundar’s maiden ODI 50 was encouraging.
