Odisha Train Accident: 101 Bodies Still To Be Identified

The horrific Odisha train Accident in which 278 people died and 900 were injured has sent shockwaves across the nation. As per the officials 101 bodies are yet to be identified.

200 people being treated in hospitals

Divisional Railway Manager of the Eastern Central Railways Rinkesh Roy said, “About 1,100 people were injured in the accident, out of which about 900 people were discharged after treatment. Around 200 people are being treated in various hospitals in the state. Out of 278 people who died in the accident, 101 bodies are yet to be identified.”

193 bodies kept in Bhubaneswar

According to the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Vijay Amrit Kulange, nearly 193 bodies are kept in Bhubaneswar out of which 80 bodies have been identified and 55 bodies have been taken by the relatives.

Coromandel Express did not have ‘Kavach’

The heart wrenching incident took place on Friday when 3 trains including Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Express, Howrah-Bengaluru Superfast Express and a goods train collided resulting in death of nearly 300 people. Mamta Banerjee slammed the BJP government for not having ‘Kavach’ in Coromandel Express. She even demanded to release the authentic death toll and accused the government for reducing the number of people died in the accident. However, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the citizens regarding the complete restoration of tracks by sharing a post on twitter.
