Border Conflict: Sharad Pawar Says It’s Time to Stand Up; K’taka Activists Riot

Updates on the Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Row: Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP, spoke to the media on Tuesday about the Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary conflict. He declared that the situation in Belagavi, the contentious region, worries him and that it is time to make a stand.

The minister from Maharashtra postponed their trip to Belagavi on Tuesday, December 6, indicating that the situation in the border regions of the western states is still tense. Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai were sent to Belagavi by the Maharashtra government to discuss the border problem. As ministers in charge of coordinating the matter, Patil and Desai have been chosen.

Ministers had been warned not to visit Belagavi by Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai. “Coming when there is such a situation between the two states is not proper. We’ve already given the order to stay away. According to Bommai, “We will deal in the same manner as the Government of Karnataka has when such efforts have been made repeatedly in the past.

The Belagavi district deputy commissioner had issued an order prohibiting their entry into the district, enforcing section 144. The CM claimed that he had instructed officials to take appropriate legal action in the event that the Maharashtra ministers showed up.

As a prevention tool, security has been increased in the border regions after Bommai gave the revenue and police department officials instructions to make sure that law and order is maintained.

“We formally told the Karnataka government that two of our ministers were travelling to Belagavi, but they claimed that if we went, Belagavi might experience a law and order issue. We chose to put it off. We haven’t postponed our trip, “said Desai.

He added that the following visit date would be decided soon. We will interact with Marathi speakers in Belagavi and hold discussions about the package that the Maharashtra chief minister and deputy chief minister want to offer to Marathi speakers in about 850 villages, “the cabinet minister for Maharashtra stated.
