NO Security No Yatra: Congress terminates the Bharat Jodo Yatra in J&K, Rahul Gandhi driven out in a car

Rahul Gandhi is making his way across the valley on the final stage of his 3,500-kilometer journey, which began in Tamil Nadu more than a hundred days ago. Numerous barricades have also been put up, and people and cars are not permitted to go in the direction of Qazigund. Along the yatra route, extensive security measures have been put in place, and hundreds of police and paramilitary troops have been deployed.

Many employees who wished to participate in the yatra were halted at various locations and are not permitted to proceed to Qazigund, where Rahul will begin the Kashmir phase of his yatra.

Another participant in the yatra is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Workers of the PDP, which accepted the invitation from the Congress to attend the yatra, have gathered at numerous locations along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway to welcome Rahul Gandhi and his yatra.

No security for Rahul Gandhi

Following allegations of security lapses made by KC Venugopal, the Bharat Jodo Yatra was stopped at Qazigund in Banihal, Jammu & Kashmir. Following the accusations from the top Congress politician, Rahul Gandhi was driven away in a car.

According to Congress, the Bharat Jodo Yatra has been put on hold because additional protection has not been supplied. The leaders declared that they would not begin the yatra until they had received more security.

“There is no security. We cannot allow Rahul Gandhi to go ahead without security. Even if he wants to walk, we can’t allow it. Senior security officers have to come here,” said senior Congress leader KC Venugopal.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Rahul Gandhi were accompanied by Omar Abdullah in today’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
