Emergency Declared At Delhi Airport Following A Bird Strike On Dubai-Bound FedEx Aircraft

On Saturday, a major emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after a FedEx plane headed for Dubai was struck by a bird shortly after takeoff.

Airport officials stated in a statement that the choice was taken so that the FedEx plane could land at the Delhi airport and specialists could examine it for any technical issues before approving it. A courier/cargo airplane is FedEx.

Airport officials said, “The bird strike happened at a height of 1,000 feet”.

A recent IndiGo flight that was headed from Surat to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after it was struck by a bird while climbing at Surat.

The engine fan blades were discovered to be fractured during the ground inspection, according to the DGCA, because of the bird strike.

Likewise, on February 25, 2023, a medical emergency on board forced an IndiGo flight from Cochin to Delhi to make a diversion to Bhopal.

When the tail of an Air India Express flight from Calicut to Dammam brushed against the ground during takeoff, the plane was also forced to divert to Thiruvananthapuram. According to officials, the airplane landed safely after a major emergency was declared at the airport in Thiruvananthapuram.
