Jammu & Kashmir: One Terrorist Killed in Encounter in Pulwama

Security personnel neutralized a terrorist during an encounter in Awantipora, Jammu, and Kashmir, according to police reports from Tuesday.

According to a Jammu and Kashmir police spokesperson, the dead terrorist’s body has not yet been found.

Days after the intentional killing of yet another Kashmiri Pandit, an encounter occurred in the village of Padgampora in the Awantipora tehsil of the Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Kashmir Zone Police posted on Twitter, saying, “In Padgampora Awantipora in the Pulwama district, an encounter has begun. The police and security personnel are at work. Further information will come later.”

The Update on the operation

Jammu and Kashmir Police provided an update on the operation against the terrorists and stated, “The clash resulted in the death of one terrorist. His body has not yet been found, though.”

The encounter is in Process. We’re waiting for more details.

Sanjay Sharma, The victim

Terrorists opened fire on Sanjay Sharma, a resident of Achan in Pulwama, on his way to market on Sunday. The 45-year-old victim, a bank security guard, passed away from his gunshots in the hospital.

A prominent Pandit organization in the Valley called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to remove L-G Manoj Sinha.

The statement stated that “KPSS most humbly with folded hands request the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Home Minister to rest their personal agendas and self-conceit and take the issue seriously and replace the current Lt. Governor immediately for letting the Kashmiri Pandits be killed by the militants for some vested agenda and vendetta to malign the ruling political party at the national and international level,”
