Kejriwal Extends An Invitation To Himanta To Lunch At His Home

Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party chief reached Guwahati on Sunday a day after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma threatened him with a defamation case.

Delhi Chief Minister invited the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Himanta Biswa Sarma for tea and lunch at his residence in the national capital.

Mr. Sarma had threatened Kejriwal on Friday with a defamation suit if the Aam Aadmi Party leader cited corruption allegations against him outside the assembly.

The Assam chief minister said, “Is there a case or formal complaint filed against me elsewhere in the nation? I planned to sue him, but he talked in front of the assembly like a coward”.

“Let Kejriwal visit this location on April 2 and accuse me of corruption. I’ll bring a defamation lawsuit against him the next day, just like I did with Manish Sisodia, the leader of the AAP”, Mr. Sarma added.

“The people of Assam are wonderful. They greet their visitors. Himanta Biswa Sarma should learn from them”, the Delhi Chief Minister said shortly after landing at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in response to Sarma’s remarks.

Delhi Chief Minister further said, “I invite him (Sarma) to come to Delhi, and have tea and lunch with me at my house. I will also show him around the city”.

“He had threatened to put me in jail, said he won’t let me return. Such threats are unbecoming of a chief minister”, Delhi Chief Minister added.

Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, accompanied Kejriwal.

On Sunday, the two leaders will speak at a rally in Guwahati.
