Man Who Killed Rajasthan Old Woman, Ate Her Flesh; Dies Of Cardiac Arrest

Jodhpur: A 24-year-old man Surendra Thakur who was arrested by the Rajasthan Police for killing a 65-year-old woman Shanti Devi and eating her flesh died at MG Hospital on Tuesday Morning. He was under treatment since Saturday.

Died of cardiac arrest

Superintendent of MG Hosptial Raj Shree Behra said, “Since he had been referred to Jodhpur from Pali as a rabies patient and had been displaying abnormal behaviour, we isolated him in the hospital and had been taking caution in his treatment.” He also stated the patient had a cardiac arrest and died on Tuesday morning.

Surendra Thakur was suffering from brain disorder

Surendra Thakur condition was viewed by psychiatry and neurology department but they were unable to diagnose his disease. On May 26, he was caught eating flesh of an old woman after which he was taken to a hospital in Pali where he was referred to Jodhpur the next day. According to the doctors in Jodhpur, Surendra Thakur was suffering from rabies or Kuru disease which is a fatal brain disorder. When been subjected to CT scan a failed liver was found.

No family members found yet

However police were not successful in finding and reaching out to his family members. When Surendra was caught, an aadhaar card was found in his pocket which had an address of Mumbai. Other than that a bus ticket from Mumbai to MP was discovered. Police have mentioned that until and unless any family member is contacted, how Surendra Thakur reached Pali from Mumbai under this mental condition will remain a mystery.
