New Schemes Announced To Promote Entrepreneurship, Healthcare And Empowerment In Assam

GUWAHATI: In a significant move to promote entrepreneurship, enhance healthcare accessibility, and boost economic empowerment, the Chief Minister of Assam announced three new schemes.

These schemes aim to benefit various sections of society, including entrepreneurs, households, and self-help group (SHG) members.

The first scheme, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, involves the provision of financial assistance to 1 lakh entrepreneurs in Assam. Under this scheme, each entrepreneur will receive a sum of Z2 lakh. totaling a commendable amount of crore. The initiative seeks to empower aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them kickstart their ventures and contribute to the economic growth of the state.

Recognizing the need to ensure food security and accessible healthcare. the second scheme revolves around providing ration cards to even’ households in Assam. This move guarantees that each household will have access to free ration, as well as cashless treatment up to Z5 lakh.

The third scheme focuses on empowering members of SHGs by facilitating their entry into the realm of micro-enterprises. As part of this initiative. 40 lakh SHG members will be granted Z10,000 each, enabling them to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. This scheme, with an allocation of 2400 crore, aims to provide a significant boost to the SHG sector, which plays a vital role in supporting livelihoods and fostering economic self-sufficiency.

Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to put out, “To mark *gyearsofSeva of Hon PM, I am announcing 3 new schemes
-Z2 lakh each for 1 lakh entrepreneurs -Ration card for every household so they get free ration & cashless treatment upto Zg lakh -Z10,000 each for 40 lakh SHG members to start their micro-enterprises”
