“The Biggest Victory For BJP In Local Body Elections In UP” – CM Yogi’s Post-Winning Message

The high-octane Uttar Pradesh urban local body (ULB) elections have come to an end with a tremendous winning of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While welcoming the BJP’s victory in the state’s civic polls, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath thanked the voters and his supporters. He also assured that his government will ensure development and good governance.

Speaking to the media, the chief minister said, “With the efforts of BJP workers and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has been successful in mayor polls. This is the biggest victory for BJP in local body elections in Uttar Pradesh. I want to thank the voters for this mandate and assure them that the Uttar Pradesh government will ensure development and good governance,”

Taking notes from the trends, the party has been declared the winner in four civic bodies — Jhansi, Ayodhya, Saharanpur and Vrindavan-Mathura — and is leading in 13 other civic bodies.

Taking to Twitter, earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath has also congratulated citizens and party workers on the stellar show.

Moreover, he said the victory demonstrates public faith in Prime Minister Modi’s guidance and the pro-people policies of the BJP’s double-engine government.

State BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary called the victory a symbol of the public’s faith towards the developmental policies of the double-engine BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “This wonderful and historic victory is a symbol of the unwavering faith of the public towards the developmental policies of the double engine BJP government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji,” he tweeted.

SP attacks on BJP

Samajwadi Party, the state’s main opposition, has levelled multiple allegations of electoral malpractice and demanded a probe.

On a day it suffered a crushing defeat in Karnataka, the BJP had another piece of good news in Uttar Pradesh as its ally Apna Dal Sonelal won bypolls in Chhanbey and Suar.

The ULB polls were held in two phases on May 4 and 11 across 75 districts, were the last major pan-State elections going into the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. At least 4.32 crore voters were to elect 1,420 councillors to Municipal Corporations and 5,327 members to Nagar Panchayats and 7,177 members to Nagar Palika Parishads apart from electing 17 Mayors. The voter turnout was recorded at 52% in the first phase and 50% in the second phase.
