Today, 28 December: Fuel Prices Remain Constant; Check Prices In Delhi, Mumbai, And Other Cities

Prices Of Petrol Diesel In Delhi , Bengaluru , Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad

The prices in the country have been steady for about seven months now . The last has been made on 21 May  this Year , When our Finanace Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced excise duty on petrol by Diesel costs Rs 8 per litre and petrol costs Rs 6 per litre. Petrol costs Rs 106.31 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel costs Rs 94.27 per litre. In Delhi, the price of petrol and diesel per litre is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62, respectively.

Chennai: Petrol rate: Rs 102.63 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 94.24 per litre

Kolkata: Petrol rate today: Rs 106.03 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 92.76 per litre

Bengaluru: Petrol rate: Rs 101.94 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 87.89 per litre

Lucknow: Petrol rate: Rs 96.57 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 89.76 per litre

Noida: Petrol rate: Rs 96.79 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 89.96 per litre

Gurugram: Petrol rate: Rs 97.18 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 90.05 per litre

Chandigarh: Petrol rate: Rs 96.20 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 84.26 per litre

Mumbai: Petrol rate: Rs 106.31 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 94.27 per litre

Delhi: Petrol rate: Rs 96.72 per litre, Diesel rate: Rs 89.62 per litre

Any changes in petrol and diesel prices take effect at 6 a.m. every day. Petrol and diesel prices vary by state, depending on factors such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, and so on. Public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise their prices on a daily basis in accordance with international benchmark prices and forex rates.

Since the central government reduced excise duty, some states have reduced VAT prices on fuels. Meghalaya was the last state to update fuel prices when it raised VAT on August 24, resulting in petrol costing Rs 96.83 per litre in Shillong and diesel costing Rs 84.72 per litre. In July, the Maharashtra government reduced the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3 per litre.
