This is going to be recorded as a historical beginning when today Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his British counterpart Rishi Sunak at G20 Summit.
The G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia today on the 15th of November, was an occasion when it witnessed the top Indian leader from India and the top British leader from India in the United Kingdom.
The vital meeting came post PM Modi meeting with US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron prior to the beginning of the summit. Significantly it was the first time when PM Modi met Rishi Sunak during the G20 Summit in Bali.
For Sunak the first face-to-face meeting with Modi came ever since he became the first Indian-origin PM in Britain’s history in the month of October, 2022.
A picture was shared by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) the two prime ministers conversing on the margins of the G20 Summit going on in Indonesia.
Rishi Sunak must be remembering meeting the Indian Prime Minister that Modi was one of the first world leaders who congratulated him upon his political victory as British PM last month on October 25.
PM Modi also tweeted, saying “Glad to speak to @RishiSunak here today. Congratulated the British Prime Minister on assuming charge as PM of United Kingdom. We are going to work together strengthening further our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both of us also agree on the importance of early conclusion of a balanced and comprehensive FTA.”
