The Unitarian Church Nongthymmai, Shillong, concluded its year-long centenary celebration on Saturday. To mark the event, the neighborhood MDC Latiplang Kharkongor released a memento.
Nongthymmai headmen, church leaders, Unitarian Union of North East India leaders, and hundreds of Unitarian supporters attended the event. Speaking at the event were M. Passah, president of the UUNEI, Rev. Derrick P. Pariat, parish minister of the Unitarian Church Nongthymmai, and KL Nongbri, congregation secretary.
The audience was urged by Rev. Pariat to keep helping the less fortunate members of society and to work to spread the word about the Unitarian Church. We continue moving forward to spread our light was the celebration’s theme, “Shaphrang ngin nang jam: jingshai ban Sam.”
Latiplang Kharkongor, who was the chief guest, praised the Unitarian Church Nongthymmai for its outstanding service to humanity and urged its members to keep doing good deeds.
