Yogi Govt Files SLP in Supreme Court, Minister AK Sharma Says – Hearing On OBC Reservation In The Apex Court Is Expected Soon

Yogi Govt on OBC: Opting for a big decision, the Yogi government on Wednesday has constituted an OBC Commission in the state amidst debate over reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the Municipal polls.

Yogi Govt on OBC: There will be a total of five members in the commission constituted under the chairmanship of retired judge Ram Avtar Singh. A notification has been issued by the government regarding this. On the basis of the report of the Commission, the Backward Class Reservation will be decided in the civic body elections of Uttar Pradesh.

On the OBC reservation issue, Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma says that a five-member committee was formed within 24 hours of the decision of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.

Filed the SLP within 36 hrs

The state government filed an SLP (Special Leave Petition) in the Supreme Court within 36 hours of the verdict. According to the rules, the state government had made arrangements to give 27 percent reservation to the backward classes. The UP minister says that without OBC reservation, elections to the urban bodies will not be conducted. He expects that the Supreme Court will soon start hearing on it after the holidays.

UP government is working for all sections of the society -AK Sharma

Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said that the Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is working for all sections of the society. The BJP government is continuously working for every section of the society. The government is dedicated to the development of the people belonging to exploited, deprived and backward classes.

‘UP is a state of possibilities and hopes’

Minister AK Sharma also said that Uttar Pradesh is a state of possibilities and hopes. A new chapter of investment in the state will be written from the Global Investors Summit to be held in the year 2023. Investors from the country and abroad, are willing to invest in the state. There are immense possibilities of investment in the state in the field of bio-energy.

UP Govt delighted to help investors

The minister sounds confident saying that the Urban Development Department and the Energy Department are ready at every level to help the investors. The Global Investors Summit will prove to be a milestone in the development of Uttar Pradesh as well as the country.
