Rahul-Rath : To Jodo Some You Have To Chhodo Some

They say, In order To gain some you have to lose some. ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ resumed from Pallkad district in Kerala on Monday by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. This comes in the midst of the crisis in Rajasthan where 82 MLAs quit, protesting against the possibility that Sachin Pilot might become the next chief minister.

Congress leaders also joined Rahul Gandhi on the 19th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, namely Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda, AICC Incharge Harish Chaudhary and Kerala MLA K Muraleedharan. Indian athlete Abdulla Aboobacker, who won a silver medal for triple jump in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. As the political drama in Rajasthan heats up with 82 MLAs resigning from the state assembly, Rahul Gandhi continues leading the party’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The political crisis in Rajasthan erupted as the MLAs resigned from the state assembly after speculation rose that Sachin Pilot will take over as the next chief minister if Ashok Gehlot wins the Congress presidential election.“Nothing in my hands”, says Gehlot as 82 MLAs quit in new crisis for Congress.

The agenda for the day includes honouring a statue of Mahatma Gandhi by paying floral tributes. The yatra will halt for the day in Palakkad district’s Koppam area.

‘CONGRESS CHHODO’ TREND

The political crisis in Rajasthan comes just days after the Goa Congress Legislature Party (CLP) merged into the BJP after 8 out of 11 Congress MLAs joined the ruling party in the Centre.

Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, all is not well as Congress leaders loyal to chief minister Ashok Gehlot resigned from the state assembly ahead of the legislature party meeting scheduled for Sunday. The MLAs are opposing the appointment of a new Rajasthan CM from those who rebelled against the Gehlot government in July 2020.

This comes after speculations rose that Sachin Pilot will become the next chief minister after Ashok Gehlot resigns to contest for the Congress Presidential post.
