Argentina vs Netherlands: Messi Created History, Argentina Reached Semi-Finals

FIFA World Cup 2022: Argentina vs Netherlands:

Argentina vs Netherlands: In the second quarter-final match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 being played in Qatar, Argentina booked the semi-final ticket by defeating the Netherlands in the penalty shootout. It was a very exciting match, where Messi’s team was ahead 2-0 at one point, but the Netherlands made a tremendous comeback in the last minutes and equalized the score at 2-2 and took the match to extra time. But even here both the teams could not score and Argentina entered the semi-finals by defeating the Netherlands team 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

Nehuel Morina scored the first goal for Argentina in the 35th minute. Lionel Messi gave a great pass on which Morina sent the ball into the goalpost. After this, Messi scored a penalty in the 73rd minute to take a 2-0 lead and it seemed that Argentina would easily win the match, but Bout Beghorst, who came on as a substitute in the 78th minute, completely overturned the match. Bout Beghorst scored the goal in the 83rd minute. In the last minute of injury time, Beghorst surprised Argentina by scoring the second goal.

But Messi’s team came out with the intention of winning and by defeating the Netherlands in the penalty shootout, they were thrown out of the World Cup. Eight years ago, Argentina had eliminated the Netherlands in the World Cup, even then Messi’s team defeated the Netherlands in the penalty shootout in the semi-finals. Argentina’s team will now play against Croatia in the semi-finals on 13 December.
