IPL 2023: ‘Bhuvneshwar Kumar’ To Lead SRH From The Front On April 2nd Against RR

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad in their April 2 match against Rajasthan Royals in Hyderabad in the absence of designated captain Aiden Markram.

South African Markram to miss the first match

Markram will only arrive in India on April 3, as he is in South Africa for the two-match One-Day International series against the Netherlands. For South Africa to directly qualify for the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India later this year, the series is crucial. They must win both one-day internationals against the Netherlands without over-rate penalties, and then they must hope Ireland loses at least one one-day international against Bangladesh in a three-match home series in May.

Bhuvneshwar as SRH captain

Since their inception in 2013, Bhuvneshwar has been a member of the Sunrisers and has led them in six games in 2019 and once in 2022. The Sunrisers won two of those seven matches.
The Sunrisers revamped their team in advance of this season after finishing eighth in 2022. One of the enormous changes was delivering their then-commander Kane Williamson and handing over control to Markram.

SRH vs. RR

At their home in Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Rajasthan Royals in the second afternoon match of the IPL 2023. In the match that will take place on April 2, both teams hope to score their first victories of the tournament.

While Sunrisers will be without any trace of the administration of Markram, Rajasthan Royals will be feeling the loss of their key pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was controlled out of the competition because of a physical issue. Sandeep Sharma, a seasoned bowler, has been selected as Krishna’s replacement. Sharma is eager to impress his new fans in his debut.

The Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, will move to Guwahati for their first home game of the season on April 5, but Markram will be back for his team’s second game on April 7 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
