Key Highlights: MI vs DC

Delhi Capital’s Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bowl. This decision of Meg was not proven wrong when the bowlers stopped the MI side for just 109 runs.
Alice Capsey and the DC skipper Shafali Verma combined to score 110 runs in 9 overs with 11 boundaries and 7 sixes. Mumbai Indians were simply defeated by Delhi Capitals by nine wickets with 66 balls remaining.

DC’s bowlers’ performance was unremarkable when each of their bowlers took 2 wickets to stop Harmanpreet’s MI for just 109 runs.
This includes Marizanne Kapp (2/13), Shikha Pandey (2/21) and Jess Jonassen (2/25).

The bat also contributed to DC’s dominance. Alice Capsey took care of the rest with a 17-ball 38 after Lanning and Shafali added 56 runs for the first wicket. Even though Meg Lanning could not obtain the orange cap back, the fact that her team won the top spot on the points table was more calming.

Player of the match

Marizanne Kapp was named the match’s best player, despite Alice Capsey scoring 38 runs in just 17 deliveries. She won both the game and the player of the match award for her performance, which included taking 2 wickets and giving 13 runs to the MI side.
