WWBC Highlights: Know Who Won What At The Final…

WWBC Highlights: During the Women’s World Boxing Championships, Indian boxer Saweety Boora defeated Chinese boxer Wang Lina 4-3 to claim the title of light heavyweight (81 kg) world champion.
The Indian boxer prevailed 4-3. Saweety and Wang Lina of China fought a close match, but the Indian star prevailed in the end by a small margin.

Nitu The star of WWBC

With a stunning victory in Saturday’s finals of the IBA (WWBC )at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, young Indian pugilist Nitu Ghanghas made history by becoming a World Champion for the first time.Maintaining her fantastic form, Nitu (48 kg) won a remarkable 5-0 victory by unanimous decision over Kazakhstan’s two-time Asian bronze medalist Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg. The gold medalist from the 2022 Commonwealth Games kicked off the fight with a flurry of punches and used her smart movement and aggressive style to win the first two rounds by scores of 5-0 and 3-2, respectively.
Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora became the sixth and seventh Indian women’s world champions.

About the tounament (WWBC)

324 boxers from 65 nations, including several Olympic medalists, compete in the ongoing prestigious event to win titles in each of the 12 weight classes. There is a huge prize fund of 20 crore rupees in the tournament.

India has won 12 gold medals at the Women’s World Boxing Championship, with legendary MC Mary Kom winning six of them. These two athletes join an elite group that also includes Sarita Devi (2006), Enny RL (2006), Lekha KC (2006), and Nikhat Zareen (2022).
