Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul, newlyweds, have shared a set of dreamy photos from their wedding in Khandala today. The photos are from the wedding ceremony that shows the bride and groom, who are dressed in pale pink and white, sitting at the mandap and then taking the pheras. The first photo shows KL Rahul kissing Athiya’s hand, and the last is a close-up of the two. “In your light, I learn how to love,” says the caption for the wedding photos.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul write in their wedding post: “We married today, surrounded by our closest friends and family, in the home that has brought us so much joy and peace. We seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness with a heart full of gratitude and love.”
They got married in a small ceremony at the Shetty residence in Khandala. Guests were limited to close family and friends, including Krishna Shroff, Diana Penty, Anushka Ranjan and husband Aditya Seal, and Anshula Kapoor. Cricketers Ishant Sharma and his wife Pratima, as well as Varun Aaron, were in attendance.
Suniel Shetty, Athiya’s father, confirmed to the media stationed outside the venue that the pheras had ended after the wedding. “I am now a father-in-law,” he announced, adding that a reception would most likely be held following the IPL season. Suniel Shetty and his son Ahan gave out sweets to the media to commemorate the wedding.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul, who reportedly began dating in 2019, held pre-wedding events over the weekend, including a sangeet – all of which were private affairs, just like the wedding itself.
Several photographers gathered outside the wedding location in Khandala as the famous couple announced their wedding through an Instagram post. The couple arrived in a golf cart after their wedding to pose for pictures with the paparazzi who had gathered outside the wedding venue.
