VVVIP Ward With ‘Sevadars’ And Badminton Court For Manish Sisodia, Alleges Sukesh Chandrasekhar

Former Delhi AAP minister Manish Sisodia is being held in the Tihar Jail’s ‘VVVIP’ ward, which has “wood floors” among other facilities and has so far only accommodated “nationally known” persons, including himself, on the orders of ex-Delhi home minister Satyendar Jain, according to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in a letter to Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena.

Manish Sisodia’s message from jail

This, despite the fact that Sisodia’s Twitter account, which is now managed by his team, tweeted, “Sir, you can trouble me by putting me in jail. But you can’t break my spirit; the British also caused problems for the freedom fighters, but their spirits were unbroken – Manish Sisodia’s message from jail.”

Accusing Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP of spreading “false stories” regarding Sisodia’s incarceration with gangsters and the consequent threat to his life, Chandrasekhar alleged the former were attempting to “play a victim in public…and fool everyone”. There was no immediate response from the AAP.

Special Ward To Manish Sisodia

“Mr. Manish Sisodia is incarcerated in Jail-1 Ward No. 9, a VVVIP ward throughout Tihar Jail. “It’s a special ward for high profile or VIP prisoners that is almost 20,000/- sq.ft. gated special ward with only 5 cells,” Chandrasekhar, who is being held in Mandoli Jail on charges ranging from extortion to impersonation, claimed.

He went on to allege that this jail had “…wooden flooring and all amenities” including “an exclusive large garden to walk around, a special badminton court, and a dining area”.

VVIP Ward Details

“This ward has till date housed VIP/high profile inmates like Suborotho Roy of Sahara, Mr. Kalmadi, Mr. Amar Singh, Mr. A. Raja and recently Sanjay Chandra of Unitech, and I myself was lodged in the said ward from 2017/2018 on the instructions of Satyender Jain,” he alleged, adding that “only few old inmates and sevadars” had been lodged with Sisodia “for his comfort” instead of gangsters or “serious criminals” as alleged by AAP.

“Until now, this ward has housed VIP/high-profile inmates such as Suborotho Roy of Sahara, Mr. Kalmadi, Mr. Amar Singh, Mr. A. Raja, and most recently Sanjay Chandra of Unitech, and I mysela.” Chandrasekhar also asked L-G Saxena to intervene and launch an investigation into the alleged ‘VVVIP’ facilities extended to Sisodia.

“Sir, Mr. Sisodia is well cared for in this VVVIP ward, and all of these allegations have been well planned and orchestrated by Mr. Kejriwal, Satyender Jain, and the jail administration,” he claimed.

“I humbly request your urgent intervention in the interest of justice as I am a witness against AAP, and kindly request you to initiate an urgent inquiry on VVVIP facilities currently being provided to Mr. Sisodia… and also to take action against…officers…in the interest of my safety,” he added, accusing some jail administration officials of harassing him at Jain’s request.
