After a busy day in which the rapper appeared on Alex Jones’ Infowars programme and repeatedly said that he loves Adolf Hitler, Ye tweeted a number of divisive messages. Ye allegedly communicated through text with Twitter CEO Elon Musk as well.
Ye shared a photo of a swastika combined with a Star of David among the tweets that praised and supported Balenciaga in response to the recent criticism of the brand. Ye’s twitter storm came to an immediate halt when Twitter removed the offending item.
Because he believed he could be punished, Ye also posted a disturbing picture of Musk getting beaten up by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel on a yacht. Emanuel had previously called for a Hollywood-led boycott of Ye after the rapper made a slew of antisemitic comments that eventually caused brands like Adidas and Balenciaga to end their partnerships with him.
Following a now-deleted tweet from the rapper on Thursday night that included a swastika, Kanye Ye West has been suspended from Twitter.
Ye’s verified account on Truth Social shared an additional image of his text conversation with Musk along with a screenshot demonstrating that he had been locked out of his account for 12 hours.
Musk, a self-described adamant defender of free expression, confirmed Ye’s suspension by initially responding, “This is fine,” to the unfavourable image and, “This is not,” to the since-deleted swastika message.
The CEO of Tesla responded to a Twitter fan who asked him to “repair Kanye please,” saying, “I tried my best. Despite this, he once more transgressed our prohibition against inciting violence. The account will be put on hold.
Musk responded again on Twitter, writing, “Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for encouragement to violence, not a sexist picture of me getting hosed by Ari. I must admit that seeing those pictures helped motivate me to slim down!
Doubling down, Musk tweeted the acronym “FAFO” which means “Fuck Around & Find Out”.
