‘Footprints On Water’ Is A Movie That Adil Hussain Recommends To People In South Asia

Actor Adil Hussain, whose most recent film, “Footprints on Water,” has received praise in numerous locations throughout the world, believes that this movie is a must-see, especially for South Asian fans.

His outstanding performance in the highly praised movie earned him the best actor prize at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival (OIFF) in Canada recently.

Written by Neetha Syam and directed by Nathalia Syam, “Footprints on Water” examines the life of an undocumented immigrant parent who lives in the United Kingdom. The movie centres on his frantic attempt to locate his daughter, who has vanished, while avoiding notice by the police. The film successfully illuminates the stories of immigrants from all origins who come to the UK with the hope and desire to change their life.

Adil, who plays Raghu, the missing girl’s father in the movie, notes that many people think their life will better if they somehow manage to get to the UK or the West.

Adil Hussain agrees that people who flee political oppression face various challenges, but he also cautions those who want to improve their lot in life to face the hard facts.

“Some of them (South Asian immigrants to the West) may be fortunate, while others may not be so fortunate. Additionally, these subjects are typically not turned into films for South Asians to view and learn how hazardous they are, the author continues.

Therefore, in my opinion, it is crucial that South Asian nations screen this movie. Many Westerners, namely Caucasians who have lived there for a very long period, are likewise unaware of the issues.

The actor from Goalpara believes that “Footprints on Water” is essential for providing a reality check.
