Secret U.S. Documents On Ukraine War Plan Spill Onto Internet

Secret documents containing details of US and NATO plans to assist Ukraine in preparing for a spring offensive against Russia have leaked onto social media platforms.

The Pentagon stated that it is investigating the reported security breach.

Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said, “We are aware of reports of social media posts, and the Department is investigating”.

The documents, which were distributed via Twitter and Telegram, are said to contain charts and details about weapon deliveries, battalion strengths, and other sensitive information.

The documents’ information is at least five weeks old, with the most recent being dated March 1, 2023.

One of the documents summarised the training schedules of 12 Ukraine combat brigades, stating that nine of them were being trained by US and NATO forces and that 250 tanks and over 350 mechanized vehicles were required.

The documents, at least one of which was labeled ‘top secret’, were distributed through pro-Russian government channels.

The documents also include information on the expenditure rates for munitions under Ukraine’s military control, such as the HIMARS rocket systems, which are US-made artillery rocket systems that have proven highly effective against Russian forces.

According to the report, military analysts have warned that some documents appear to have been altered as part of Russia’s disinformation campaign, with one document inflating Ukrainian troop deaths while minimizing Russian battlefield losses.
