When they met : Biden’s bid to Jinping joy

The two global stalwart met today after a long opposition of each other on many issues many times. Xi Jinping meets Joe Biden in Indonasia.

The historical thaw has been witnessed during the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia which can resultantly calm the political and economic nerves in world capitals. And yes, Delhi would also fell relieved.

Xi Jinping has a different ambition, going through which he would like Biden to withdraw from the current US policy of an all-ladders confrontation with Beijing. Keeping the Chinese quest for Asian dominance, Jinping may like to negotiate a bilateral accommodation for the consolidation of his Asian dream.

Asia would also welcome the first face-to-face summit between the Chinese leader and the US President on the margins of the G-20 summit.

Such a tempering of the current confrontation between the world’s leading superpowers — the China and the US — will certainly help calm economic and political tension down all around the world when today people are globally struggling to recover out of the double blows delivered by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.

Simultaneously the probability of an armed conflict between the US and China keeping Taiwan in the center had also put the global fraternity on the edge of a precipice.

President Biden’s policy of minimizing the dangers of a war is complementary to Washington’s determination to compete with China in order to retain global American leadership with Asian primacy.Keeping in view the rapidly deepening divide between the two top nations in recent years, Beijing under Xi Jinping has come up as the target numero uno. Thus the global scenario has almost been dominated by the global power struggles of the two.
