The White House denied any involvement in an alleged drone attack on the Kremlin on Wednesday, as Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused Washington of directing Ukraine to carry out the attack.
The spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, John Kirby said, “We had nothing to do with this”.
“Peskov is just lying there, pure and simple,” he continued.
Russia claims Ukraine carried out a terrorist attack using two drones between Tuesday and Wednesday, attempting to murder President Vladimir Putin, an accusation Kyiv denies.
Putin’s veteran press secretary, Dmitry Peskov said, earlier Wednesday that decisions on such attacks are made not in Kyiv, but in Washington.

He further said, “Kyiv only does what it is told to do”.
The Kremlin incident follows a slew of recent explosions and trail derailments on Russian and occupied Ukrainian land.
On Wednesday, Kirby reaffirmed that Washington does not support or condone Ukraine’s assaults outside its boundaries.
“We’ve been clear with them publicly and privately that we do not encourage nor do we enable them to strike outside Ukraine”, he added.
