On Friday, Lalit Modi, founder of Indian Premier League, wrote on Instagram that he was on 24/7 oxygen support after suffering from ‘Covid-19 and deep pneumonia’. Lalit discussed his condition in a series of posts, claiming that he got the infection in Mexico and has now arrived in London via air ambulance. Lalit stated that he ‘needs time to recover’ and that his condition was ‘touch and go’, but his children and friends rallied to his aid. Many celebrities, including actor Rajeev Sen, brother of Lalit’s alleged girlfriend Sushmita Sen, commented on Lalit’s posts.

Lalit shared a series of photos and videos of himself from the hospital, writing, “After three weeks in confinement with a double Covid-19 in two weeks accompanied by influenza and deep pneumonia – and after attempting to leave several times. Finally arrived by air ambulance, accompanied by two doctors and my superstar super-efficient son, who had done so much for me in London. The flight was comfy. Unfortunately, I’m still on external oxygen 24 hours a day.. “Get well soon,” former cricketer Harbhajan Singh commented on his post. Rajeev Sen wished,  “Lalit, I wish you a speedy recovery.” Stay strong.”

In another Instagram post, Lalit shared a photo from an airport and wrote, “With my two savior’s. For three weeks, the two doctors closely monitored and treated me. One in Mexico City, and the other in London, who flew into Mexico City specifically to accompany me back to London. I have no words to express how much they sacrificed in terms of time and effort to get me out. It will take some time to recover. Currently on external oxygen 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I was on the verge, I thought. But it was my children, friends, and close friend @harish salve_ who were all by my side for two of my three weeks. They are all my family and a part of who I am.
