Parking Ke Pocketmaar: Bharat Express’ Special Sting Operation Busted The Parking Scam In Delhi

If you’re residing in the heartland of India, you won’t be spared without being charged extra for your vehicles only because these vehicles move and sometimes they do need a parking space that’s not your personal.

Delhi, the capital of India, the soil where bills are passed and laws are made, the soil where the soul of the nation exists. On the very same soil, a scam is being nurtured, a scam that may pierce your pockets without being proposed in any budget or bill.

If you’re residing in the heartland of India, you won’t be spared without being charged extra for your vehicles only because these vehicles move and sometimes they do need a parking space that’s not your personal. Ideally, the parking areas for the malls should be free of cost but what reality bestows upon you might be different if you live, eat, and breathe in Delhi.

An undercover reporter, Raju, from Bharat Express busted this scam that seemed routine to the residents of the capital city. He went on to posh areas ranging from Hauz Khas Village to malls like Select City Walk and DLF Avenue only to find that people are being charged Rs. 20 per hour for two-wheelers and Rs. 30-40 per hour for four-wheelers and there are additional charges for every added hour of service.

In Hauz Khas Village, the charges are cumulative for five hours i.e. Rs. 100. Even if you park your vehicle for 30 minutes, you will be charged for five hours. The only solution to these charges at all such places is a monthly pass that may cost you up to 2,600 rupees. For a service, that should ideally cost you nothing or a few bucks, you might end up paying in thousands only because these contractors get the parking contracts for a hefty sum of money that’s as much as 25 lakh rupees.

Bharat Express has busted this scam through a special sting operation – Parking Ke Pocketmaar. You may watch the full episode here:
