Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of PDP, visited and offered prayers at the Navagraha temple in the Poonch district on Wednesday.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief arrived at Navagraha temple during a two-day visit to the Poonch district. She went around the entire temple and also performed a Shivling Jal Abhishek.  Also, she presented flowers to the Bani Yashpal Sharma statue placed on the temple grounds.

“Yashpal Sharma built this temple, and his son wished for me to enter the shrine. After then, someone gave me a container filled with water, therefore it would have been inappropriate for me to refuse it, so I offered prayers, says PDP chief M Mufti during his prayer service at the Navagraha temple in Pooch.

The Criticism By BJP

Mehbooba Mufti’s visit to the temple was not well received by the Jammu and Kashmir wing of the BJP, who criticized it as a political stunt.

The Jammu and Kashmir branch of the BJP’s spokesperson, Ranbir Singh Pathania, stated: “Mehbooba Mufti and her party opposed the 2008 land distribution to the Shri Amarnath Ji shrine board. Her party opposed the temporary land transfer to the shrine board for the intent to build pilgrim hutments.”

“Her visit to the temple is nothing more than a drama and showmanship that will accomplish nothing. If political publicity stunts had been able to effect change, today’s Jammu and Kashmir would be a prosperous orchard.”

BJP referred to Mufti’s visit to the temple as a “political gimmick.” Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and BJP leader Kavinder Gupta stated, “Despite the fact that Mehbooba Mufti is doing something different and I have just arrived from the temple, she is the focus of the news.

It is obvious when elections are approaching that they begin engaging in this type of “drama and gimmickry, “Today, he said. “It’s good if they are genuinely putting their heart into it. I pray that God would grant them the wisdom to serve the nation and Jammu & Kashmir.  I hope they do not support Pakistan “said Gupta.
