‘I am originally a middle class family man’

Revealing about his own life, the multimillionaire says, ”I was born in a middle-class family and I have also lived in the 1970s and 80s when we had to struggle for electricity, roads and water. This was the time when there was a huge lack of infrastructure in ports, airports and other sectors in India. In contrast, China, which became independent almost at the same time as India and had a lower per capita income than India in the 1990s, began to leapfrog India in development. All these issues instilled in me a great desire to transform India, especially in infrastructure, and do whatever I can to make India stronger. Meanwhile, beginning in 1991, policy changes created an enabling environment for private sector entry into the infrastructure sector. That is why I am determined to use every opportunity, to build world-class infrastructure and facilities for India and Indians.”
