Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Friday met his Sri Lankan counterpart Naseer Ahmed and discussed matters related to preventing land degradation and combating climate change.

Naseer Ahmed is in India to represent Sri Lanka at the ‘World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS)’ in New Delhi, India from February 22 to 24.

The theme of WSDS 2023: Nature-based solutions to address climate vulnerability and ensure food security.

Environment Minister took to Twitter to express his happiness. He tweeted, “Met with Sri Lankan Environment Minister Mr @naseerahamedcm in Delhi today. We discussed matters related to arresting land degradation and combating climate change with particular focus on aspects related to Loss and Damage and Technology Transfer”, through his official Twitter handle.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President of Guyana Dr. Bharat Jagdev; Naseer Ahmed, Environment Minister of Sri Lanka; and Jeffrey Sachs, director, of the Center for Sustainable Development at the Earth Institute attended the event.
