Bountiful Harvest: Punjab Farmers Rejoice As Free Power Supply And Favorable Weather Boost Paddy Growth

Initially, the state government had pledged to provide tubewells with a daily eight-hour supply of free electricity. The farmers, however, now assert that they have access to 8 to 12 hours of daily electricity supply.

What can only be characterized as excellent news for paddy growers is that this year’s weather is turning out to be very favorable. To their joy, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has promised free power for tube wells for up to 12 hours.

Initially, the state government had pledged to provide tubewells with a daily eight-hour supply of free electricity. The farmers, however, now assert that they have access to 8 to 12 hours of daily electricity supply.

A farmer from Gurusar village named Ranjit Singh expressed his satisfaction by saying, “The electrical supply scenario has substantially improved this season. For our tubewells, we now have 8 to 12 hours of daily electricity supply. In order to avoid over-irrigation, some farmers are even compelled to stop using their tubewells. Additionally, the department has been regularly supplying the fields with canal water according to the plan.

A farmer from Gaggar village, Raghbir Singh, concurred that there are no energy supply problems in his community. “Hardly any power cuts are imposed on domestic consumers,” he said.

The administration is doing a good job, said Gurdeep Singh of Chhateana village in appreciation of its efforts. The farmers have benefited enormously from it because it keeps the tubewells’ power supply constant. In addition, irrigation of the fields has benefited from the recent rainfall.

A senior official from the PSPCL recognized the difficulties they are having because of a staffing deficit. He nevertheless emphasized their dedication to providing all users with an uninterrupted power supply. “Our first objective continues to be providing tubewells with at least eight hours of power every day. Periodically, unfavorable weather conditions, such as rain and strong gusts, may result in some disruptions, he said.

In general, the farmers are happy as a result of the favorable weather and the PSPCL’s attempts to supply a sufficient amount of power. They can anticipate a productive agricultural season because their crops are receiving adequate irrigation.
