Sammed Shikharji: Govt’s big decision on Parasnath Sammed Shikhar row, bans meat-liquor sale in area

Sammed Shikharji: Opting for a big decision on the Parasnath Sammed Shikhar controversy, the central government says that Parasnath is not a tourist destination. Ordering the Jharkhand government, the Center asked that the state government should take all necessary steps in this regard and act on the notification of the year 2019 banning the provisions of section 3 of it.

The central government holds in its decision that the sanctity of the religious place in Parasnath should be maintained whereas tourism and eco-tourism activities should be banned immediately. Along with this, there should be no sale of liquor and meat in this area. For this, the central government also formed a committee and asked the state government to include 2 members from the Jain community and 1 member from the tribal community in the committee.

CM wrote a letter to the central government

Chief Minister Hemant Soren had written a letter to the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Bhupendra Yadav over the dispute. Via the letter Jharkhand CM urged to take appropriate decision keeping in mind the religious sentiments of Jain followers.

The Chief Minister had said in his letter that the Parasnath Sammed Shikhar is a world famous holy and revered pilgrimage site of the Jain community since mythological times. According to belief, Nirvana has been attained by 20 Tirthankaras out of total 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism at this place. Due to the Jain religious importance of this place, Jain followers from every corner of India and the world come for the pilgrimage to this place.
