Amazon Prime Increases Membership Price In India; Know The Updated Prices and Other Details

The price of Amazon Prime membership has surpassed that of Netflix

The price of Amazon Prime membership has surpassed that of Netflix. Although a few months back the e-commerce giant had announced discounted prices, now it is making headlines for making changes to its plans once again. Amazon Prime has raised the cost of its Prime membership in India. The monthly plan is now priced at Rs 299. The 3-month plan is now available for Rs 599, an increase of up to Rs 140. However, the annual membership price of Rs 1,499 does not alter. Additionally, the business has kept the cost of its Prime Lite membership at Rs. 999, which offers most of the advantages of regular membership with the exception of an Amazon Music subscription.

Previously, a subscription to Amazon Prime cost Rs 179 per month and Rs 459 every quarter. The corporation increased the cost of the monthly plan by more than 60%, while the cost of the quarterly plan has climbed by almost 30%.

Netflix and Amazon Prime Subscription Comparison

Comparing it to its competitor Netflix, for mobile devices, a Netflix membership in India costs  Rs 149. The entry-level package, which costs Rs 199, enables HD video streaming on a single device at a time. The premium plan costs Rs 649 while the ordinary plan is priced at Rs 499. But a Prime membership offers more than just video streaming. The membership offers a variety of advantages, such as Prime Video, quicker product delivery, a Prime Music subscription, early access to sales, cashback, deals, and other promotions.

The Prime video package for mobile in India was introduced by Amazon in November of last year. At Rs 599, it is a reasonably priced subscription plan. It is only available on mobile in a few countries as a single device. Users will be able to watch Prime Video content in Standard Definition (SD) quality on just one Android or iOS phone at a time with Prime Video for mobile service. It differs from the other Amazon Prime subscription plan in that it does not support 4K video resolution or multiple profiles. This is comparable to the Netflix Mobile package, which enables mobile streaming of Netflix content.
