Opening Bell: SGX Nifty signals a positive start. Indian shares opened higher on Friday in the final session of 2022, aided by an uptick in IT stocks, tracking gains in global equities.
BSE thirty share surged 110 points to 61,256.57 while NSE Nifty50 went up to 30 points to 18,234.15. Nifty bank is trading 0.18 percent lower at 43178.00 at 10.55 am.
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 90 points, or 0.49 percent, higher at 18,370, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Friday.
Wall Street’s main indexes closed higher on Thursday, led by growth stocks in light trading, as U.S. Dow up 1.05 percent, S&P 500 rises 1.75 percent, and Nasdaq went up 264 points, gains 2.59 percent.
U.S. Federal Reserve’s rate hikes have had their intenaded effect on the labor market.
Rupee opens up 0.02 percent at 82.7800 per U.S. Dollar; previous close 82.7975.

Oil prices, which slid on concerns over demand recovery in China, also aided gains in domestic equities. Brent crude futures climbed 44 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $83.90 a barrel.
Oil prices fell for a second straight session on Thursday on an uncertain demand outlook as more countries considered restrictions on Chinese travelers with COVID-19 infections spreading in the top oil-importing nation.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.74 percent, or 194.33 points, to 26,288.00 at the open, while the broader Topix index climbed 0.39 percent, or 7.39 points, to 1,902.66.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng surged 191 points, China’s Shanghai SE gained 19 points while S&P ASX went up 35 points on Friday morning.
