Pathaan, the greatest Hindi film opening weekend ever in India and the world, and it appears that the second-day box office numbers have broken even another record. According to Box Office India, the movie made almost Rs. 70 crore net on Thursday, a holiday because of Republic Day. The figures from day one have increased significantly. Because of the massive audiences that came to the movie’s release, the exact numbers may possibly be higher, according to the outlet.

Pathaan: The second-day box office numbers

The results, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, are in the range of Rs 65–70 crore net, which puts the movie’s combined two-day earnings at above Rs 120 crore. However, according to Bollywood Hungama, the movie was made between Rs 67 and Rs 69 crore on Republic Day. According to the article, Pathaan might join the Rs 200 crore club on its first weekend of release. On Twitter, trade expert Komal Nahta posted data from the three national multiplex chains (PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis) and stated that on the second day, the movie only brought in Rs 32.40 crore from these establishments.

Thugs of Hindostan and War, both from the same company, made Rs 24.35 crore and Rs 29.25 crore, respectively, on their second days in theatres, according to Bollywood Hungama. War and Thugs both had two of the most successful opening days in Hindi film history, but Pathaan finally triumphed.

With Rs 106 crore, YRF declared Thursday to be “the biggest opening day in the history of Hindi cinema worldwide gross.” On its first day, which was a working day, Pathaan made a net profit of Rs 57 crore. Due to the national holiday and the next long weekend, it appears that Pathaan’s daily collection will continue to rise. The second day’s sharp increase was mostly caused by the national holiday.

Shahrukh is Back

Shah Rukh Khan made his return to the big screen with Pathaan, and so far, it appears that fans are not disappointed with what they are watching in the theatres. Pathaan, which was directed by Siddharth Anand, also features John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana.  “Pathaan” has the spy movie laced with heavy doses of patriotism bouncing off the screen, with Shah Rukh Khan acing the action avatar and flaunting the floppy-hair-glittering-aviators-eight packs (or is it twelve?) look.
