PM Modi Meets The Famous Couple Featuring Oscars Winning Short Film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the famous Elephant Whisperer Couple at Theppakkadu Elephant Camp on Sunday. PM Modi met the Oscar-winning documentary famous couple Bomman and Bellie.

PM Modi reached Mysuru in Karnataka on Saturday evening from Chennai. He further went to the tiger sanctuary.

He was welcomed by the pachyderms and he fed sugarcane to some of the elephants in the ‘Theppakkadu camp’ at the tiger reserve.

What a delight to meet the wonderful Bomman and Belli, along with Bommi and Raghu.

The 41-minute short document movie explores the life of an elephant and the precious bond between Raghu, an orphaned baby elephant, and his caretaker a couple named Bomman and Bellie. This couple devoted their lives to protecting him from poachers and raising him.

This documentary was created by Guneest’s banner Sikhya Entertainment. This short film beat four other rivals and bang the position in the best documentary short category.

The elephant whisperers were nominated against ‘Haul Out’, ‘How Do You Measure A Year?, ‘The Martha Mitchell Effect’, and ‘Stranger At The Gate”.

The Prime Minister shared his visit to the renowned elephant whisperer couple and their elephants on the micro-blogging website Twitter.
