Pradeep Sarkar, a filmmaker best known for his work on Parineeta, Helicopter Eela, and Madhaani, has passed away at the age of 67. Chief Hansal Mehta shared the news on his Twitter profile on Friday morning, and he composed: “Sarkar, Pradeep Dada. RIP.” Bollywood stars paid tribute to the filmmaker, united in their grief.

Neetu Cofirms Pradeep Sarkar’s death

The death of the “Parineeta” director was made public by actress Neetu Chandra. She revealed that Pradeep Sarkar was her first director. While she was still in college, the two of them collaborated on an advertisement for a footwear brand. Sarkar and his sister Madhu were close friends of Neetu’s. Neetu was deeply moved when she received a text informing her of Sarkar’s passing.

Ajay Devgn wrote: “For some of us, the news of Pradeep Sarkar’s death, “Dada,” is still difficult to process. Sincere condolences My requests are for the left and his loved ones. Dada, RIP.”

Manoj Bajpayee, wrote in response to Hansal Mehta’s tweet: “Ohh! That shocks me so much! Dada, rest in peace.”

Neil Nitin Mukesh, who collaborated with the director on Lafangey Parindey, posted the following tweet:
“DADA!  Why   I’ll miss you dada.  Will always remember you as that young man with a big heart and a lot of life who taught me a lot. Lafangey Parindey, your creation, will always hold a special place in my heart.  My thoughts are with the family.”

Movies of Pradeep Sarkar

Pradeep Sarkar directed a number of well-known music videos and commercials prior to making films. In 2005, he directed Parineeta for the first time. Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan were in the movie. Sarkar’s work in the advertising film industry made him famous. In the 1990s and early 2000s, he also shot the now-famous music videos for songs like “Dhoom Pichak Dhoom” and “Maaeri” by Euphoria and “Ab Ke Saawan” by Shubha Mudgal.
