Actress Chrisann pens a letter, recounts her Jail time

After being behind bars for 26 days in Sharjah jail for alleged involvement in a drug smuggling case, Sadak 2 actor Chrisann Pereira shared details of the tough days she spent there. The actress maintained that she was framed in the case and was released. She penned a letter, where she talked about how she washed her hair with ‘Tide’ detergent and even she made coffee using loo (toilet) water.

“My ambition brought me Here”

In her letter, she wrote, “Dear Warriors, It took me three weeks and five days to find pen and paper in jail. After I washed my hair with Tide detergent and made coffee using toilet water, I watched Bollywood movies, sometimes with tears in my eyes knowing my ambition brought me here. I sometimes smile at our culture, our movies and the familiar faces on TV. I feel proud to be an Indian and belong to the Indian film industry.”

Chrisann thanks those who had faith in her

The Sadak 2 actress also extended her thanks to her loved ones including her mom, dad, friends, and even to the media, police and churches who all had faith in her during the trial. She added in her letter, “You are the real warriors while I am just a pawn in this dirty game played by these ‘Mansters’. I am forever grateful to everyone who tweeted and reshared my story to arrest the real criminals facilitating international organised crime. We are a great powerful nation and I cannot wait to return home. Thank you for saving my life and the lives of other innocent people who fell prey to this scam. May justices always prevail.”

Earlier, this month, Chrisann was arrested in UAE’s Sharjah after drugs were found in a trophy that she was carrying. Her family had alleged that the actor had been framed.

A few days back, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two people, a bakery owner named Anthony Paul and his close aide Rajesh Babhote alias Ravi, on charges of framing the actor in connection with the alleged drugs-smuggling case. A magistrate court in Mumbai has remanded the two arrested people to police custody till May 2. Meanwhile, the actor is likely to reach India in two days, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Lakhmi Gautam said on Wednesday.
