Boeing, the renowned American aviation major, has initiated the production of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters tailored for the Indian Army. The first batch is slated for delivery in the early months of the forthcoming year.
The Indian Army’s procurement of Apache helicopters commenced in 2020, augmenting the existing fleet of 22 in service with the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Notably, the production process involves collaborative efforts, as the fuselage of each Apache helicopter worldwide is manufactured in India by Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) based in Hyderabad.

Boeing, in a statement, underscored the significance of this milestone. The helicopter manufacturing process is in full swing at Boeing’s facility in Mesa, Arizona.
Reflecting on this development, Boeing India President Salil Gupte stated, “We are pleased to reach yet another significant milestone, highlighting Boeing’s unwavering commitment to support India’s defence capabilities.”
The AH-64E Apache helicopter boasts advanced technology and a proven performance record, thereby enhancing the Indian Army’s operational readiness.
Emphasizing its stature, Christina Upah, a senior Boeing executive at the Mesa site and Vice-President of attack helicopter programs, affirmed, “The AH-64E continues to be the world’s premier attack helicopter.”
The Apache attack helicopter is renowned for its lethal capabilities, armed with a formidable array of weaponry, including cannons, rockets, and missiles.
