Brahmos Missile ‘Brahmastra’ Of India: Chief Of Defence Staff

Due to our legacy issues of unsettled borders and related security challenges, possession of strategic deterrence instruments in our case is essential.

Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan called Brahmos Missile ‘Brahmastra’ of the country. On Wednesday he said, “Aatmanirbharta does not mean that we are going to produce everything in India. We are going to establish joint ventures and BrahMos Aerospace is one such venture. It has been a major success story”.

BrahMos missiles range extended to 450 km

Air chief Marshal said, “The lethal combination of BrahMos missiles, whose range has been extended to 450 km from the original 290-km, fitted on the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jets has really given us a tremendous capability to entrance our firepower.”

What IAF Chief Said?

The IAF chief mentioned, “As one of our most lethal air-combat assets, the BrahMos supersonic missile has really galvanized the way we will equip ourselves with precision firepower in the coming years. Seeing the conflicts that are happening across the globe.”

Security challenges needs possession of strategic detterence instruments

“Due to our legacy issues of unsettled borders and related security challenges, possession of strategic detterence instruments in our case is essential. And the three services as users of Brahmos missile systems now stand enabled for not just deterrence but also to respond robustly when required”, said Army Chief General Manoj Pande.

Brahmos Works on ‘Fire and Forget Principle’

Brahmos is 2 stage missile which  works on ‘Fire and Forget Principle’. Brahmos has 3 times more velocity and around 3 times more flight range.
