The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was the subject of a CBI investigation on Friday regarding possible irregularities in hiring and purchasing decisions made while previous director Ravi Kant was in charge.
Pradeep Pandey, a law officer at AIIMS in Rishikesh, claimed that the investigating agency had requested additional papers regarding the alleged irregularities that are being given to it.
“A CBI team under the direction of Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajeev Chandola is conducting the search”, the source claimed.
In April 2022, the CBI conducted raids at the AIIMS in Rishikesh and filed two separate cases against five individuals.
The vigilance agency had also looked into fraud in the awarding of contracts for the purchase of equipment and the provision of space to a pharmacy inside AIIMS, Rishikesh before the CBI started its investigation into the irregularities.
