CBI Court Will Hear Manish Sisodia’s Bail Request At 2:00 pm Today

Manish Sisodia, a former deputy chief minister of Delhi, will appear before a CBI court at 2 pm today.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader, who is now in CBI detention and is being investigated about Delhi’s Liquor policy, has requested bail.

In preparation for bringing Manish Sisodia before the court at the conclusion of his 5-day remand, the CBI has placed the Delhi Police, Rapid Action Force, and Central Reserve Police Force in front of its Delhi headquarters.

Manish Sisodia claimed in his bid for bail that his continued detention would “serve no useful purpose” because all recoveries related to the case had already been made.

Charges on Manish Sisodia

A corruption charge against Mr. Sisodia relates to the creation of the national capital’s alcohol policy, which was abandoned after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena raised it with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The CBI detained the 51-year-old on Sunday night due to allegations of corruption in the creation and execution of the now-canceled 2021–22 liquor policy. A money laundering case has Jain detained at Tihar Prison at the moment. On Tuesday, they left the Delhi Cabinet.

Mr. Sisodia had appealed the CBI’s action to the Supreme Court a day after his arrest. However, the court informed him that he ought to have gone to the high court; as a result, Mr. Sisodia withdrew his motion and declared that he would proceed to the trial court.
