The debut season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is starting from today i.e March 4, at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The season opener between Ashleigh Gardner’s Gujarat Giants (GJ) and Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians (MI) is set to begin at 7:30 PM IST. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony for WPL 2023 will begin at 5:30 PM IST. The opening ceremony will feature performances by Bollywood superstars Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani, as well as musician AP Dhillon. The five teams will compete in four home and four away league games during the event. The league phase’s top finishers advance directly to the championship. The second and third-placed teams will compete against one another in the Eliminator for a spot in the championship game.
