Delhi Con-Story: This is a story which belongs to all metro-cities. Rich elders living alone in the capital are on the target of thugs. Notorious for about a dozen cases, the conman Avneesh Jha alias Tantrik alias Guruji, who victimized the elderly, captured the house of 71-year-old unmarried relative of megastar Amitabh Bachchan living at New Friends Colony, in the capital.

Delhi Con-Story:  Avnish Jha, a notorious thug from Delhi, captured the house of Anil Nanda, a relative of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, worth about 100 crores. Conspiring for it, he first joined hands with Nanda’s personal assistant who served Nanda for about 32 years. Nanda has also been the Vice Chairman of the Escort Group, which operates the famous Escort Hospitals in the capital. About a dozen cases of fraud are registered against this man, Avnish Jha in Delhi, Haryana and Nagaland. The Delhi Police has arrested three accused including Jha in this case, while the search is on for the four named accused.

Delhi Con-Story: This is what happened

According to the complaint lodged with the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, Anil Nanda, who was the Vice Chairman of Escort Group, was in Tihar Jail in 2016 in a check bounce case. During this jail stay, he met Avneesh Chandra Jha alias Tantrik alias Guruji who was arrested in a case of cheating. Jha projected himself as a great fortune teller and told Nanda that many judges and IRS officers are under his influence. However, Nanda was released from jail after three months, but Jha remained in jail till 2019.

Delhi Con-Story: Contacted Nanda in February 2022

Jha contacted 71-year-old Nanda living in New Friends Colony in February 2022 through an acquaintance. He told that he runs a law firm in association with many influential people. He said, he would help him settle all their court disputes. He said that he needed a trustworthy assistant. Nanda then suggested the name of Radhakrishna, his personal assistant, who had been living with him for nearly 32 years. Then Jha kept Radhakrishna with him. Jha came closer to Nanda who was away from business for many years and started helping him by providing cash help of lakhs, two lakhs during this period.

Radhakrishna became part of the gang

Nanda trusted Jha and sent Radhakrishna along with the conman. But Nanda’s thirty two year old trusted personal assistant became a canker for him. This traitor, who handled Nanda’s digital signature, emails and all the accounts, joined hands with Jha and shared all the information and sensitive matters related to Nanda with Jha.

Conspiracy was cooked in March

According to the case registered, a person had tried to transfer Nanda’s Kothi worth about 100 crores in his name as the owner using fake tricks. This badly scared Nanda. Then Jha openly asked him to write an statement in the High Court that he had sold this Kothi to Jha, then no one would be able to take possession of his Kothi. Nanda, could not understand the vicious intend behind this due to badly being entangled in the web of vicious thugs, okayed it and presented a similar statement in the court.

This is how he won the trust

According to Nanda, he had sold one of his properties in London. The middlemen who made the deal, had made him deposit about Rs 13 crore in their account. Jha assured Nanda that he would use his clout to get a case registered against the accused. After that he also filed a case against the accused in the Economic Offenses Wing. This is what made Nanda trust Jha even more. Sensing this, Jha started executing his plans carefully step by step.

Banished from home in a pre-planned manner

Jha knew that a cheque bounce case was going on against Nanda in a Gurgaon court. Jha was working on his plan to snatch away Nanda’s bungalow, thus he assured Nanda that he had managed the matter and the cheque bounce case has been taken care of. So there is no need to appear in the court. Nanda did not appear on the next date of the case which made the court declare him a fugitive. Due to which the Haryana Police reached his house in May 2022. Then Jha made him run away from the back door by showing fear of going to jail and with the help of his assistants made him stay in a hotel.

Drugged him in hotel

The conman’s assistants Dharmendra, Ashok and Kannu, who were involved in this case also with Jha, kept Nanda in different hotels for about four months. During this, he was given intoxicating pills in the name of medicine. Not only this, Jha’s other partner Vivek also started giving him drugs in the name of medicine with the help of several doctors.

Nanda got locked up in Gurugram

Due to the fear of going to jail, Nanda, who was intoxicated, had lost his senses. Then in September, Jha told him that he has managed the matter, so now he will have to go to the court and give his statement. When Nanda reached the Gurugram court on September 11, the court sent him to prison in judicial custody.

When he returned, the house was occupied

When the relatives of Nanda came to know that Nanda was in Gurugram’s jail for about two and a half months, they started trying for get him free on bail and on September 01, Nanda got bail. After which when he reached his residence, the gate was locked there. While the bouncers posted at the back door did not allow him to enter saying that now the owner of this Kothi is Avneesh Jha.

This is how the conman got trapped

Actually the Kothi in New Friends Colony where Nanda lived was the property of the company. Jha, along with Radhakrishna and his partner CA Majid, made fake documents and showed that he had become the director of this company in March 2021 itself.  But in fact he came in contact with Nanda in February 2022 only. When the police investigated Nanda’s complaint, it was found from the chat in CA Majid’s mobile that it was a forgery. After which the police arrested the thugs, Avneesh Chandra Jha, CA Majid and Radhakrishna, who were Nanda’s assistants. Now, the police is looking for the remaining four accused.
