JMI organizes 2-day seminar

To highlight and strengthen the Indo-Korean relationships, a two-day student seminar workshop was organized by the Korean Language, Department of foreign languages of Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi on 20th February.

The seminar, 한국역사 세미나 2023– “Introduction and Understanding of Korean History in India” was organized under the Seed Project of the Academy of Korean Studies.

Several researchers from India and Korea have gathered to share their research about both countries and learn during the event.

Details of the seminar

Taking notes of the details of the seminar, focused on empowering Korean history keeping the Indian context in mind. The inaugural session started at 10:00 am. The program started with a welcome speech by Prof. Kim Do-Young, Director of the Korean Studies Program, at JMI. Registration for the seminar was opened between 09:30 am and 10:00 am.

While addressing the seminar, Prof. Kim Do Young talked about the journey of the Korean Language, Literature & Culture in India in general and at Jamia Millia Islamia in particular. He also talked about the role and contribution of the history courses in the development of the whole program. Prof. Kim thanked all the distinguished guests and Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Najma Akhtar and the Academy of Korean Studies for all their support to run the program.
