The Indian High Commission in the UK recently hosted an Iftar Party for the Indian diaspora in the region, to celebrate the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
The event, held at the High Commission’s premises in London, was attended by a large number of British Indians from all walks of life, including local community leaders, influencers, and other members of the Indian diaspora.
The High Commissioner of India to the UK, His Excellency Vikram Doraiswami, welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of the event, saying that it was an opportunity to bring together members of the Indian diaspora and celebrate the values of diversity and inclusivity. He added that it was also a chance to recognize the contributions of the Indian community in the UK and to promote the shared values and cultures of India and the UK.
The event included a traditional Iftar dinner, with a range of Indian and international dishes. The Indian High Commission was Honoured to host PIO Peers, Councillors and others, and diplomats in London.
The Iftar Party was a great success, with many attendees expressing their appreciation for the Indian High Commission’s efforts in organizing the event. It was a chance for the Indian diaspora in the UK to come together and celebrate their shared culture and heritage, and recognize the importance of Ramadan in the Islamic world.
