India Welcomes G20 Presidency As Huge Opportunity: PM Modi

As India assumes G20 presidency, PM Modi calls for a paradigm shift considering it a ‘huge opportunity’ for India .

On December o1, 2022 with commencement of India’s G20 presidency, PM Modi sets the tone of the grand opportunity on the great spiritual premises of Indian philosophy. The Prime Minister calls for a paradigm shift which in fact focuses on human – centric globalization.

Stating that gaining the G20 Presidency for India is a huge opportunity, the Prime Minister holds that India is increasingly participating on international platforms.

The international grouping of the largest developing and industrialized  nations around the globe, the Group of Twenty (G20) has assigned India for its presidency. India on 01 December 2022 has formally taken over as G20 President. In the month of November during the last summit in Bali, Indonesia transferred the G20 presidency formally to India in PM Modi’s significant presence.

The G20 members include the United States, China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia,  Brazil, Canada, France, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Greece, Japan, Mexico, , the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Turkey,  South Africa, and the European Union.

With growing expectations from India, now India has conspicuously carved out a place for itself at the world stage. And now India is seen increasing its participation on global platforms. In such a situation receiving the G20 Presidency gives India a huge opportunity, says PM Modi.

Speaking on G20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that this would be an “opportunity for showcasing India’s capability to the world”.  India as the mother of democracy, with such a sizable nation and such diversity, having such potential, India definitely has the chance for introducing itself on the world arena to demonstrate its potential, PM Modi adds.

In his December 1, blog post, PM Modi had also requested all Indian Political parties and leaders to join together to make India’s G20 Presidency a Presidency of harmony, hope and healing.
