Investiture Ceremony At CISF Headquarters New Delhi
On July 7, 2023, a Grand Investiture Ceremony was held at CISF Headquarters in New Delhi to celebrate and decorate 90 CISF officers and personnel with Police Medals for Meritorious Service, Fire Service Medals for Meritorious Service, and Union Home Minister’s Medals for Excellence in Police Training, which were awarded to them by the Government of India on Republic Day, Independence Day, and other occasions. It is the largest Investiture Ceremony ever held in CISF history.
During the event, Shri Sheel Vardhan Singh, DG CISF, presented Police Medals and Union Home Minister’s Medals to CISF officers and personnel. In his address, DG CISF congratulated all decorated officers and personnel, saying that receiving such prestigious medals from the Government of India is a source of great pride for the Force. He also praised the officers and personnel’s families for their unwavering support in inspiring the CISF members to carry out their duties with utmost dedication and enable them to achieve such remarkable feats.
He further stated that the CISF is known as a multi-dimensional, professionally capable, and people-friendly force with a huge public interface across the country. The CISF has played a critical role in securing the country’s sensitive and critical infrastructure, thereby impacting its economic growth, and has received a lot of praise for its uncompromising professionalism, immaculate discipline, and spirit of sacrifice in the line of duty. The Government of India has also recognized the CISF’s services to the nation, awarding over 13,000 awards and medals to Force personnel on various occasions.
Smt Nina Singh, SDG (HQ), Shri Piyush Anand, ADG (North), Shri Gyanender Singh Malik, ADG (APS) and other Senior Officers of CISF, other force personnel and the family member of the decorated officers and personnel were present during the ceremony. The ceremony witnessed immense pride & enthusiasm amongst the medals awardees.
